In extremely windy winter conditions I decided to hike around the Bull Creek area in Kananaskis. I didn’t really have any concrete goal in mind but ended scrambling up a ridge
to a high point barely above tree line. I brought my ice axe but didn’t
have my crampons which ended up causing me some problems on descent. On descent I chose to climb down an indeterminate drainage
that ended up in a vertical 5 meter waterfall that necessitated some creative avoidance down steep, slick slopes. (That'll
learn me…till next time!)
Blowing wind and snow on the ascent.
The hike turns alpine.
Winter climbing terrain to reach the ridge.
Terrain on the ridge top.
The high point and my summit for the day.
